Cricut Cake & Sugar Cookies

November 11th, 2010 cricutcakemaster 1 comment

Today I made a project using the Cricut Cake. I combined the cricut cake with a few of the cutting cafe files. The cricut machine performed great. I made some sugar cookie doe, which I made apple cookie and used a tag from the cutting cafe from the all occasions tags set these tag punch out perfectly using the stamp the map tag punch. The cookies were cut out at 3 inches with the Cricut Cake Machine. I did a lot of trial and error with the machine but it really impressed me when I was done. Next I made a sugar tree for a birtday party for earth day. I put brown fondo and I created a strawberry. If your sugar cookie dough gets to buttery, add more flower to it, mead it well then roll it on the mat with lots of shortning, put it in the freezer for 15 minutes then it cuts better. By the way Hall Mark scrapbook is the best place to purchase the cricut cake and related items. I watched a cricut cake video the other day that gave an idea for my next cricut cake designs. The video gave me some great cricut cake decorating tips.

On the Cake Cake Cartridge there are up to 600 unique images so I suggest you do review the cake basics booklet to view the images you can use with this cartridge.

The Portrait Mode

When selecting this button it changes the cut path. When selected in the highlight mode it will cut in portrait size. When not highlighted it will cut in landscape mode which is the default mode.

Fit To Page Mode

When this button is selected/highlighted, you then select an image and it will fit the image to the entire page size of your decorating material.

Fit To Length Mode

When selected/highlighted it will cut the image you have selected to the desired length of the image you like but it only does this in landscape mode.

Auto Fill Mode

You can select an image, press autofill mode and it will calculate how many times that image will fit on your material

Quantity Mode

Once quantity is selected you can select the number of images you want to cut on your material. For example if you want 5 images cut you can select that option

Mix & Match Mode

This allows you to mix and match your feature keys to cut any type of image you desire.

The inside of the Cricut Cake machine is made of food safe materials. The roller and blade are stainless steel to protect the food. It also contains food grade plastics. The joint in the machine has been sealed so food cannot enter vital parts of the machine. This also lets you easily wipe down the Cricket Cake Machine very easily with a damp cloth to keep it clean.

What’s in the Box?

Besides the Cricut Cake Machine you will get the Cakes Basic Catridge. This catridge contains hundreds of designs that will help you design beautiful cakes. YOu will also find the blade assembly, catrdige skirt, 12 x 12 cutting mat, the stanless steel blade basket and the cleaning brush.

Cricket Cake Easy Setup Instructions

Getting the Cricket cake setup to go is very easy. After removing all of the items mentioned above. The first thing you do is peel off the outside sticker, open the doors of the Cricut Cake machine and remove the cardboard inserts. These inserts are to keep things safe during shipping. Now the blad housing can move freely.

You will see a silicon overlay on top of the keypad. Do not remove this, it is to protect the keypad. Next you want to place the blade inside the balde housing. Take the blade and remove the protective cover to expose the blade. On the machine find the blade carriage and unscrew the knob and swing it out toward the right and place the blade inside the blade assembly and screw it back tightly to secure.

The Cricut Cakes Basic Catridge.

There are 3 components you will find when you open your cakes catrdige box. The first will be the cakes basics booklet. In this book you will find all the different images, features and ways that you can use the images together.

The 2nd item you will find is the silcon overlay that shows all the different artwork and features.

The 3rd component you will find is the cake catridge itself. Take your cake catridge and put the cake catrdige skirt on the bottom. This will protect the catridge. Now you can place the catrdige into the cricut cake machine itself.

Remove the main silicon cover and place the small silicon cover that shows the artwork and features. Now replace the main silcon cover back over the small silicon cover.

You Can Decorate a Cake Like A Professional

June 12th, 2010 cricutcakemaster 3 comments

The Cricut Cake makes it possible for you to decorate cakes like a professional without the mess hassle or years of training. By using the cricut cake you can decorate cakes in no time at all. The new Cricut Cake machine is creating quit a buzz.

I really like the flex building which widens the things you can do. The cricut cake is the fourth in the cricut family of machines. These four are the Cricut original, Cricut Create, Cricut Expression and the brand new Cricut Cake.

With so many great choices from Provo Craft you have to ask what makes the Cricut Cake different then the other cutters. The Cricut Cake is the same size and shape as the Cricut Expression and it even has some of the same functionality. You can use the same cartridges because it’s a catridge based system. It’s compatible with the Gypsy, Design Studio and Cricut Jukebox.

Provo Craft has put a lot of thought in the design of the Cricut Cake. They wanted their current Cricut users to be able to use the cricut cartridges and accesseries. This means you can have thousands of choices in your cake decorating.
